The analog recording process is the way music has been recorded since the mid-1920s. It remains the preferred medium for highest quality album projects.  Digital recording can never deliver the "Soul of the Music" ... the way analog recording does.

 

RECORDING SESSION RATES

We DO NOT offer hourly rates for studio usage.

We offer blocks of time for recording sessions for entire Albums and EPs, but not single songs.

We offer packages to include Vinyl Records, CDs, or Recording Only.  Recording Engineers come with your project and Producers are always here to help.

Depending on your needs, studio costs will range from $2000 and up.  Then you decide how to complete your album.

ADD MUSICIANS

We have the finest musicians in Alabama and Tennessee, ready to surround you with expert music for your album.  Every type of player is available from our Downing Studios Rhythm Section musicians of guitarists, pianists and drummers, to horn and string players.  You name it, we have them available.  Just tell us what you need or have one of our Producers give suggestions.

 

ADD MASTERING

In conjunction with our partners at Independent Mastering in Nashville, we can take your analog studio recordings and continue the process of bringing your project to market in full analog glory.  Mastering is the 2nd step to a AAA Certified vinyl project.  

We will handle your album throughout the process, from studio recording sessions to finished records.

 

VINYL, CD or DIRECT DOWNLOAD?

You choose how you want your project to be received by the public: Vinyl Albums, CDs or Direct-to-Download. 

AAA Certified is the finest available quality, but we still produce high-fidelity CDs, too.  Your choice.

 

Few companies today can bring a AAA Certified album to the market, but we have and we can:  All-Analog Recorded on Tape, Mixed to Tape, Mastered from the Tape and transfered directly to Reference Masters and then Pressed into a Virgin Vinyl Record.

Until the advent of digital recording devices and CDs, this is the way all records were made for decades.
